Noikor doesn't run quite fast enough
Trollocs have been pouring into Emond's Field through the Ways
and skirmishes have been fought all over the area.
After fighting *Huch* near Baerlon, Gualteiro, already rested up,
heads South and engages *Noikor*. A long chase starts.

north and Taren Ferry to the south. The wide, hard-packed dirt road seems
very vast here; the emptiness is emphasized by the empty expanses of grass
land which surround the road.

Just to the west of here lies the North Road. Hard packed dirt, it cuts
through the grassy plains around you and twists west into the city of
Baerlon. Wooden watchtowers and red banners can be seen atop the city,
surrounded by a large log wall, some twenty feet high. Gazing at the land,
your view is unbroken; green fields and plots of pasture continue endlessly
in front of you.

the Caemlyn Road. While it is only a gravel packed road, it bears the marks
of many wagons on it, and the deep grooves show it is a greatly travelled
road. This area in the road is very curvy, as it winds around and over the
many hills around it.

Along Caemlyn Road

to leave the hills, but they continue to flank the road to the south. About
the road on all sides and up on the hills grows a rich forest of oak and ash,
with ocassional groves of fir scattered about. Occasional clumps of underbrush

Among the Huge Oaks
This part of the surrounding forest is dominated by huge oaks of mighty size
and girth, their thick foliage of leaves and branches joining high above your
head in a tightly interlocking roof that seems full of small dark shadows.
Beneath this roof the ground is left in twilight in which no undergrowth at
all can grow, the only covering being a thick carpet of old, musty leaves.
More dark forest like this continues to the west, but directly to the east the

All around you stretch cultivated fields used by the town of Whitebridge that
lies eastward on the far side of the Arinelle river. In amongst the fields
are scattered farm complexes. Immediately about you the land has been planted
in wheat, and to the east towards the river as well. South of here sturdy
stalks of tabac in even rows; westward the ground has been left fallow this
year. Just north of here passes the wide bare swath of the Caemlyn Road, coming
from the east, where a gleaming white expanse hangs over the river, and heading
west on its way to Baerlon.

Along Caemlyn Road
You are on the Caemlyn Road, the broad swath of hard-packed earth stretching
east and west out of sight. Not far east from here is the river Arinelle, and
the town of Whitebridge on the far side of the river. A faint gleam of white
comes from off in the distance that way. Farms dot the landscape to the north
and south of the road, producing some of the crops used by the town. Just in
front of you, a narrow gravelled lane juts off north to one such farm. West-
ward down the road the croplands end, replaced by open pastures used for
grazing livestock.

The road ends abruptly near the bank of the river Arinelle. On the far
bank of the river you can see a small city. Looming up in front of you
is the majestic White Bridge, spanning the river and setting down in the
middle of the city. There appears to be no way to cross the river other than
the enormous and translucent bridge.

Foot of the White Bridge
This is the western foot of the miraculous White Bridge. It stretchs over the
river to the east, and the eastern end sets down in the middle of the city body
of Whitebridge. The Caemlyn Road connects to the very foot of the bridge and
stretches away to the west.

the enormous architectural skill that wove it has long since been lost. The
bridge is nearly translucent, its milky white strands reflect the light like

Apex of the White Bridge
The peak of the White Bridge offers an incredible view of the surrounding area
and the city of Whitebridge which is just off the east bank of the river. The
bridge is spun of some gossamer material which feels stronger than steel, and
is never slick. The milky white of the Bridge gathers the light, and at day it
seems almost to glow. The bridge looks as if it were made in one piece, molded
by a giant hand.

The peak of the White Bridge is just to the west. You are high over the river
bank and can see the city of Whitebridge to the east. The city is utterly
dwarfed by this awe-inspiring bridge. You can see the strong current of the
river Arinelle below you.
